Forest Department demolishes encroached boundary wall on Chakradharpur-Chaibasa main road

Chakradharpur, June 28: The Forest Department demolished a boundary wall constructed on encroached land near Mahatma Gandhi High School on the Chakradharpur-Chaibasa main road, NH 75 E. The demolition took place in the presence of Porahat DFO Alok Kumar. Ranger Lalan Oraon and other Forest Department personnel were also present at the site.

The land, identified by Khata number 266 and Plot number 229, was officially recorded in the Khatian as belonging to the Forest Department. In 2019, the Municipal Council Chakradharpur leased 872 square feet of this land to Vijay Kumar Sah for an annual rent of Rs 10,464, at a rate of Rs 12 per square foot. Vijay Kumar Sah had subsequently fenced the leased land with a boundary wall.
