Forest department conducts post-mortem of elephants  killed near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Mamta Priyadarshhi, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Chakulia forest range, addressed the media today following the tragic death of five elephants in the Upperbandha village near Mosaboni block under Ghatshila subdivision near Jamshedpur in the East Singhbhum.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday late evening when the elephants, in the midst of their movement from one forest to another inside the dense forest, came into contact with a high voltage line. The fatal electrocution of these majestic creatures has sent shockwaves through the community and wildlife conservationists alike.
