Forcible collection of chanda for puja on rise in Chaibasa

Chaibasa, Oct 16: Durga Puja fever has gripped Noamundi , Barbil and Badajamda areas.

Taking advantage of the situation, the puja samities are collecting forcible donations from iron ore loaded heavy vehicles owner.

One of the Truck owner S K Bhatia resident of Barbil said, the Iron Ore Loaded Vehicles commute to various sponge plants in Jharkhand and Bihar via Badajamda and on the way from Badajmda to Chaibasa our vehicles are stopped forcibly at many places and demand donations by each group.

No entry is imposed in Day time, so we travel in the night and the collector soon as the night sets in gather with sticks near the roads and start beating and abusing the drivers who don�t give the money.

These groups remain active throughout the night till early morning. In this connection we have informed the police administration but they have turned a blind eye to these reveler groups.

Now we have stopped iron ore loaded vehicles at various places accruing heavy loss to us, added a truck owner.
