Food security bill to be implemented in Jharkhand from July 1

Chaibasa, April 24: Jharkhand�s food and civil supplies minister Saryu Rai on Friday said that food security bill will be implemented from July 1, 2015.

Rai was talking to the media persons circuit out in Chaibasa. The old ration Card will be replaced by new one from first week of July while all the PDS centres will be connected with IT and except week holidays the PDS centres will remain opened all the days.

�Now 80 per cent of village populace and 60 per cent of urban populace would be able to buy at cheap rate from PDS centres.

The government has included pulse, wheat, and salt supply besides rice at PDS centres�. Rai further said that Jharkhand has only 270 stores for grain and government has decided to add more 220 grain stores.

Government has also decided to purchase a large quantity of grain from farmers by December. Roy added that socio economic survey conducted on 2011 was erroneous so we are conducting fresh survey and that will be completed within couple of months.

MLA pointed out that chief minister Dal Bhat yojna will be provided at night. On the occasion large number of BJP activist were also present.
