Folk dance enthralls audience at Jamshedpur Carnival

Jamshedpur, Jan 7: Even as Jamshedpur shivered, the biting cold could not deter citizens from thronging the Gopal Maidan on the second day of the Jamshedpur Carnival here this evening.  

Saturday saw interesting and intriguing performances by the participants. The day started with Colours of India which showcased folk dances of 14 Indian States performed by 388 children and citizens of Jamshedpur.

The stellar folkdance performances of young students enthralled the audience and received huge applause.

Besides, SaReGaMa- A Musical Antakshari Competition for children added to the excitement of the evening.

The objective of the dun-filled event was to provide an opportunity to the children, to explore Bollywood and try their hands-on singing. The competition received an overwhelming response.

Devoid of much of entertainment for the last two years due to Covid, the gathering left impressed and spellbound with scintillating performances by the fold artistes.

An additional piece of knowledge and entertainment in the Carnival chart was ‘Know Your Army that was organized on Saturday.

On the concluding day (January 8) Master Chef competition will be held from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. In the evening Rap Band will perform from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by celebrity Bollywood singer Neeraj Shridhar’s performance from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

Jamshedpur Carnival is open to all and entry to Gopal Maidan is free.
