Flyovers to be built on PPP mode, more health facilities to come up: Bhaskaran

Jamshedpur : Sunil Bhaskaran, vice president, corporate services, Tata Steel said that the company was focused on infrastructure development like construction of flyovers and medical facilities , for which necessary efforts are being made.

Talking to the newsmen on the sidelines of birth anniversary of Sir Dorabji Tata te went on to add that the company plans to construct flyovers to reduce traffic of heavy vehicles. He said that the flyovers will be built on PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode.

He also re-iterated the company’s commitment of providing state-of-the-art healthcare facility. Bhaskaran said that the company is gearing up to start medical education at Ardeshir Dalal Memorial Hospital (ADMH). He said that �Tata Steel has given a lot to this city in the past 100 years and will continue to do so in future. The city needs quality services we are looking to this direction.

He reiterated that the company is committed to implement two major infrastructure projects comprising Eastern-West corridors in Jamshedpur. �We are committed towards implementing these projects to ensure better transportation and communication.

It may be mentioned that in view of the expansion plans of Tata Steel and other Tata Group companies in Jamshedpur, Tata Steel Limited had engaged reputed Consultant M/s L & T Rambole and M/s Consulting Engineering Services of Delhi to do a transport study of Jamshedpur.

The study recommended construction of two corridors, the Eastern Corridor and the Western Corridor along with bridges on river Subernarekha and river Kharkai. To decongest the city roads further, it recommended increasing the width of the city roads, strengthening the sub-grade of roads, building new roads and parking areas in major markets such as Bistupur, Kadma and Sakchi.
