Jamshedpur: The Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) has formally written to the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, requesting that major trains be granted halts at the Ayodhya Dham station.
The Federation specifically requested that Train No. 14021 (Purulia–Anand Vihar Terminal Express) and Train No. 18103 (Tatanagar–Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express)—which are currently proposed to stop at Ayodhya Cantt—be redirected to stop at the Shri Ayodhya Dham station instead.
Key Concerns for Pilgrims
Chamber President Aditya Malhotra emphasized that Ayodhya Cantt is located quite far from the main temple complex. This distance causes significant hardship for pilgrims, particularly senior citizens and women. He noted that:
- Ayodhya Dham is a major spiritual and tourism hub.
- Providing direct access will not only assist travelers but also boost the local economy and trade.
Demand for Holi Special Trains
Simultaneously, Sanjay Akhauri, the DRUCC representative for the Ranchi Railway Division, raised the issue of the upcoming festival rush. He urged the Railway Ministry to operate Holi Special trains from Ranchi and Hatia to major cities across the country. He pointed out that many regular trains already have long waiting lists, and immediate intervention is needed to ensure passenger convenience.
The meeting regarding these demands was held recently at the Chamber Bhawan, attended by President Aditya Malhotra, General Secretary Rohit Agarwal, ZRUCC member Arun Joshi, and other key representatives.
