Five Ram devotees suffer burn injuries during immersion procession in Jamshedpur 

Jamshedpur: A tragic incident marred the Mahavir flag immersion procession in the Govindpur police station area in Jamshedpur on Monday, as five devotees were seriously injured when a ceremonial flag came in contact with a high-tension electric wire.

The flag belonged to the Yashoda Nagar Sharda Ram Bajrang Akhara, and the incident occurred while devotees were immersed in the festive spirit. The injured — Vijay Kumar De, Vijay Kumar, Shami Kumar Prasad, Sanjay Kumar Singh, and Pradeep Verma — were immediately rushed to Tata Motors Hospital.

One of the victims, critically injured, was later referred to Tata Main Hospital. The remaining four are under treatment at Tata Motors Hospital.

Local leader and Zila Parishad member Dr. Paritosh promptly reached the scene to offer support. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents urging immediate safety checks during public religious events.
