Jamshedpur, Oct 2: The police have arrested three of the five criminals involved in potato trader Gufran in Mango Munshi Mohalla of East Singhbhum district.
Police have arrested two robbers in this case. During interrogation, both confessed that five people were involved in the robbery. The arrested accused included Mohammad Raja and Sakimuddin of Kapali. Senior Superintendent of Police M Tamil Vanan revealed the breakthrough on Saturday.
The police have also seized a bag, a chappad, a knife, a torch a mobile phone, cash of Rs 5040, two bikes, two caps and a T-shirt have been recovered from the accused.
The SSP said that for the last few days, the potato trader was being under observation.
Gufran was assaulted by fishing out a pistol. One and a half lakh rupees kept in the cash counter were also robbed.
The SSP said that the police got information that the criminals had fled towards the Subarnarekha river after carrying out the robbery. The police team went towards the river to search. Police saw two suspicious boys. When the police started moving towards them, both of them jumped into the river, but the police managed to catch one. While the other managed to escape.
Police arrested his associate Sakimuddin on the behest of the arrested Mohammad Raja. Significantly, the CCTV camera footage also had a clear picture of the criminals.
