Fishery director visits Seraikela

Chandil: In a bid to motivate pisciculture in Chandil Dam, the state fishery director Rajeev Kumar today held a meeting with the deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan Hansraj Singh and other officials of the district to discuss plans to encourage local fishermen.

He said local village committees should be encouraged to take up fishery as their profession. He said pisciculture should be encouraged to increase the overall production of fish in the state.

A target of 1000 tonnes of fish production has been set this year. Various breeds of fish are being reared in the Dam, he said.
