First supply water before removing motors: CMs representative

Jamshedpur: Pawan Agrawal, representative of Chief Minister Raghubar Das, on Saturday demanded that JUSCO should first supply water to the deprived households before removing motors installed by their owners or occupants in its command area.

In a press statement issued today, Agrawal said many households in the command areas of JUSCO were using motor to get drinking water. Such households should be first provided water supply and then the motors installed by their owners should be removed, he said.

Saying that the company had given a deadline of 2nd July to remove motors from its command area, Agrawal said such an order or instruction of the company will not be tolerated or followed. It is a matter of inquiry as to why did the people have to install motors on their premises to draw water. Had these people been supplied water, they would not have taken such a step to install motors for water supply, said Agrawal.

Agrawal said the residents were also paying electricity bills for running the motors to get water. He said he would soon meet the JUSCO officials and apprise them of the situation to demand water supply for all people living in the command area.

Agrawal said the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar and the Managing Director of JUSCO Ashish Mathur had been informed about the situation and the demand of the people.
