First phase training of vote counting staff starts off

Jamshedpur: The first phase of training of Counting Supervisors and Counting Assistants for counting related duties was carried out at XLRI Auditorium on Monday.

Dr Amitabh Kaushal, DC, East Singhbhum was present during the training exercise. Master Trainer Rajnikant Mishra delivered set of instructions to trainees regarding the task of counting and demonstrated before them in detail how to count the votes through EVMs by the EVM specially set aside for training purpose.

DC addressed the trainees and told them that on 15thof May all the Counting Supervisors and Counting Assistants would be made aware of their respective assembly segments for counting and on the day of counting they will be known to their respective tables for counting.

Hands-on-set training and resealing of EVMs training were also given to the counting duty personnel through the special set of EVMs meant only for training purposes. At the end of the training each of the trainees was given the Photo Identity Card meant for the day of counting.

Second and third phases of training of Counting Supervisors and Counting Agents are scheduled to take place on 13th and 15th of May respectively at 10:00am at XLRI Auditorium while training of Counting Micro-observers will be carried out between 13th and 15th of May consecutively in different phases, administration sources said.
