First ICSE batch of Sacred Heart School Jamshedpur holds their reunion

Jamshedpur, May 30 : The peals of laughter were a give-away that this was no ordinary bunch of women.Going down the memory lane the 1974 batch of ICSE students of Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur met at Bengaluru for their first reunion, after 45 years. Of the total of 68 students, 38 attended the reunion from various parts of India and abroad. Jaswinder Kaur Bamrah , who flew all the way from Manchester, just to meet her friends was highlight of the event.

It was tireless effort of Devika( Rupa) Chatterjee that made the event possible. With the unstinting support of MohanaGanesan and GeethaRamani, she connected to the batch.

MitaliMukhopadhyay, one of the former students said the two days were spent in reliving our school days ,where old friends met with abandon. Time did not matter amidst the endless chatter. Fun, frolic , food and photos seemed to be the happy � mantra �of those two memorable days.

� It was like a dream come true for us. Together we made it possible. Our team�s commitment , dedication , perseverance , love and zeal enthused and motivated each one to attend the reunion . Special mention goes to the efforts of Rani Thadikaran and her talented daughter Tanya,� noted one of the participants.

The organising committee headed by Dipika Modi, Vandana Dutta, Rupa Das Gupta , MitaliMukhopadhyay and others , worked overtime to prepare a flawless agenda for the reunion . The teenage school day�s atmosphere was replicated with prayers, assembly , classes and sheer fun.

The cultural committee members – Raji ,Vijaylakshmi, PompaGhatak , Sharanjeet Suri , KG Lalitha, Shobha, Sanjukta Nanda and others entertained with their tributes , prayers , drills , dances , songs,anecdotes.

�The reunion days flew by and left an indelible mark on each one�s heart. It strengthened the school day friendship and with the school anthem and �So long Farewell � song ended the meet with promises to stay connected and meet again – at the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in the coming year in Jamshedpur,� said a former student.
