Jamshedpur, April 17: XLRI’s PGDM-GM batch of 2016 organised the first edition of XL Umang an event consisting of a plethora of sporting activities between the XLRI faculty and the PGDM-GM students.
The event promises a rich interaction between the academic stalwarts of XLRI and eager students which goes a long way in building the everlasting bond and feeling of camaraderie that the institute is known for.
The day-long event was organised this year with clinical efficiency that is expected from the budding managers of India’s oldest management institute.
While XLRI is well known for having the finest management faculty in the country, XL Umang gave them opportunity to showcase their sporting skills which made them more than a match for the students they teach in the lecture halls.
The event started with a cricket match, which was won by students. It was a high scoring match played in the sweltering heat.
Batting first, the students put up a formidable total of 135 in 15 overs. In response the faculty managed 115 at the end of 15 overs.
However jubilation in the student camp was short-lived as the faculty levelled the score in the table tennis match by beating students 3-1.
