First direct train from Tata to Jaipur to run on March 15

Jamshedpur, Feb. 18: Residents of Jamshedpur along with those in the entire Kolhan division, who have been demanding a direct train from Tatanagar to Jaipur, seem to have finally got their wishes come true.

Following the initiatives of Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato, railway minister Suresh Prabhu has given his consent to start the Fagun Mela special train from March 15, 2016.

Central Shyam Samiti had demanded CM�s intervention into the matter. Railways would start the train from March 15 and take further decision to running the train regularly on the response it receives.

�CM JanSamwad Kendra� tweeted on February 18 at around 1 p.m. that train no. 18009 would depart from Tatanagar railway station for Jaipur on March 15 and posted a picture of Das along with Suresh Prabhu thanking the railway minister for taking the decision, which would benefit the devotees of Khatu Shyam in Rajasthan.

According to sources, the train would depart from Tatanagar on Tuesday, March 15 at 4.30 pm in the evening which would have 18 coaches (10 AC and 8 sleeper) while the down train would leave Jaipur on Sunday, March 20 at 8.30 pm.

According to reports, Chief Minister Raghubar Das would participate in a special puja at Khatu Dham in Rajasthan on March 19 where more than 1250 Shyam devotees from Jamshedpur would take out a Nishan Yatra on March 17.

Central Shyam Samiti also held a meeting on Friday last to discuss the preparations of the festival and accommodation and other facilities for the devotees at Khatu Dham. Pavan Agarwal, secretary of Samiti is looking after all the affairs.

Significantly, the issue of a direct train from Tata to Jaipur has been raised in the Lok Sabha several times by Jamshedpur MP Bidhut Baran Mahato and in Rajya Sabha by MP Pradeep Balmuchu.

Former Jamshedpur MP Ajoy Kumar, Arjun Munda, Suman Mahato, Sunil Mahato, Abha Mahato and Shailendra Mahato also raised the topic in the Lok Sabha, as there is large population of people from Rajasthan in Jamshedpur, who have been demanding direct train to visit their place of origin since a very long time.
