Firing attempt in mobile repair shop in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 17: Police arrested one person on Thursday in connection with an alleged attempt to fire a gun with the intent to kill  at Aman mobile repair shop at Top Chowk, Kapali on October 4.

Police have identified the accused as Mubarak Ansari. He has been sent to judicial custody. Police recovered a locally made pistol with “Made in USA” markings, a broken magazine, a Splendor Plus motorcycle and a mobile phone from the accused.

The incident involved a group and police are conducting raids to arrest the other suspects. During the attempted robbery, the criminals pointed a gun at the shop owner intending to kill, but the gun malfunctioned as the magazine broke, preventing the shot from firing. “We recovered the broken magazine from the scene,” a police official said. After the failed attempt, the accused hid the damaged pistol at his residence.

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, a team was formed, led by SDPO Chandil, which included OPI In-Charge Sonu Kumar, Police Officers Aslam Ansari, Sumit Tirkey, Mohammad Basir Khan and Constables Milton Kujur, Gopal Krishna, and Dastgir Alam.(
