Jamshedpur: In a proactive step towards ensuring public safety, the district administration, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, organized a fire safety awareness campaign and mock drills at several public establishments, including hotels and a hospital.
As part of the initiative, the Fire Department conducted comprehensive fire safety audits and emergency preparedness drills at Hotel De Hamray, Hotel Sai Regency, Hotel K 79, and Purnima Netralaya in Sakchi. The objective was to evaluate the readiness of these institutions to respond effectively in the event of a fire-related emergency.

The mock drills included demonstrations of quick response techniques, rescue operations, safe evacuation procedures, and the proper use of fire-fighting equipment such as extinguishers and hydrants. Employees of the establishments actively participated in the exercises and were trained in first-response actions crucial during fire incidents.
Fire safety officers also briefed the staff on the importance of adhering to basic fire prevention protocols, identifying potential hazards, and maintaining emergency exits and alarms in functional condition. The sessions aimed to instill a culture of safety and alertness among personnel working in public and commercial spaces.
District officials emphasized that compliance with fire safety norms is not just a legal requirement but a moral responsibility, especially in places where public footfall is high. The administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all such establishments are fully equipped and prepared to handle emergency situations.
