Fire in liquor store in Jamshedpur, Rs 70,000 cash and bottles destroyed

Jamshedpur, Mar 27: A fire broke out in a liquor store at Baridih Bazaar in the Sidhgora police station area. The store’s employee, Arvind Kumar, was alerted about the fire around 8 AM and immediately informed the police and fire department.

Fire-fighters from Jharkhand government’s fire service arrived and managed to control the blaze after much effort. However, by then, cash worth Rs 70,000 and a large stock of liquor bottles had been reduced to ashes. Initial investigations suggest a short circuit as the probable cause of the fire. Police have launched an inquiry and are questioning the store owner.
