Jamshedpur, April 11: On the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, an FIR has been registered against a youth named Ubaid Akhtar for using objectionable and indecent words against a particular religion/community on the social media ‘Facebook’. An FIR has been lodged against Ubaid Akhtar by Executive Magistrate Nisha Kumari under section 295’A’ in case no-56/23 in Kadma police station for inciting people of a particular religion and spreading social hatred.
According to the police, Akhtar allegedly posted provocative posts on social media platforms that were aimed at inciting communal tension and promoting hatred. The posts were reported by vigilant citizens who brought them to the attention of the authorities. The police conducted a thorough investigation and identified Akhtar as the individual responsible for the posts, leading to the registration of the FIR.
Speaking about the incident, a police official stated, “The police take the misuse of social media very seriously. Provocative and inflammatory posts can have serious consequences and can potentially disrupt social harmony. We urge citizens, especially the youth, to use social media responsibly and refrain from posting any content that is illegal, offensive, or inflammatory.”
The accused is currently being interrogated to ascertain the motive behind the provocative posts and if there are any other individuals involved.
