Final salute to Naval officer Manoranjan Kumar as state funeral ends

Jamshedpur, March 1: The body of the Lieutenant Commander, Manoranjan Kumar, who died in the INS Sindhuratna submarine mishap in Mumbai on Wednesday, was confined to flames with full state honours in Subernarekha crematorium on Saturday, March 1. today.Large number of people from all sections of the society joined in thefuneral procession to pay their last respect to the departed soul. Earlier, the body of the departed soldier arrived at his Vastuvihar residence in Mango on state government ambulance from Ranchi airport.
The deceased Navy officer’s mother, Rukhmani Devi was completely in tears as the body arrived.

Army and Navy officers, East Singhbhum district administration representatives, politicians including MP, Dr Ajoy Kumar were among the prominent people present at the departed navy officer’s residence to the pay their last respect. Manoranjan and Lt Commander Kapish Muwal died in the INS Sinduratna submarine mishap in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day the body of Lt. Manoranjan Kumar, who died in INS Sindhuratna mishap in Mumbai, was received with a guard of honour at the Ranchi airport on Saturday afternoon, before being taken to his family’s home in Jamshedpur. Manoranjan Kumar’s father Naveen Kumar, his two uncles, and his younger brother Sumant, a student of class XII flew from Mumbai to Ranchi with his body. They were accompanied by seven of Manoranjan’s course-mates from the Navy.
