Jamshedpur, Dec 2: A total of 906 individuals and organizations have been issued final notices for violating the regulations in the Dalma Eco-Sensitive Zone. These notices, sent as the third and final warning, concern illegal construction, encroachment, and other activities within the protected area. The notice serves as a final call for compliance, with a clear instruction to submit valid documents within 15 days. Failure to do so will result in further legal action. Authorities are addressing illegal constructions within the Dalma Eco Sensitive Zone (ESZ), with hearings scheduled for affected parties before any demolition. A total of 906 houses and establishments, including a government dak bungalow and an Anganwadi center, have been identified for action.

The dak bungalow, situated on plot number 254 in Burudungri, and the Anganwadi center on plot number 222 in Ugadih have both received second notices. Hearings for these cases have been scheduled for December 18 and December 17, 2024, respectively. The individuals and organizations under scrutiny include businesses, schools, shops, and other establishments that have unlawfully expanded or constructed within the eco-sensitive zone.

Some of the notable encroachers served with the final notices include Shyam Dairy (Dimna), AGCS Food and Spices Pvt. Ltd., Maa Mansa Grocery Store, Smriti Seva Sadan Hospital, RVS Academy, Dayal Steel Construction Pvt. Ltd., and several other commercial and residential entities. The list also includes Vastu Vihar, Sun City Aashiana, Vrindavan Hotel, Panja Truck and Car Wash Center, and many others operating illegally within the zone.

District Forest Officer Saba Alam Ansari confirmed, “We have issued notices to structures falling within the Dalma ESZ. Our focus is on ensuring that all affected individuals have the opportunity to present their case before we proceed with any action.”

Deputy Forest Conservator and Area Director of the Gaj Project, Jamshedpur, will oversee the hearings. “We are following the rules stringently. The side of each affected person will be heard before deciding further action,” stated an official involved in the process.

Authorities have emphasized the importance of preserving the eco-sensitive zone, which prohibits illegal constructions. “Our objective is to ensure compliance with environmental regulations while giving residents a fair chance to present their views,” added Ansari.

Residents and institutions involved have been advised to prepare their documentation and attend the hearings. Officials clarified that any action, including potential demolition, would only follow due legal procedures and consideration of individual cases.

Authorities have emphasized that non-compliance will lead to strict action. “We have given the encroachers a clear deadline to submit their valid documents. If they fail to do so, we will proceed with further action,” said Ansari. The Dalma Eco-Sensitive Zone, established to preserve the region’s biodiversity, is facing increasing threats from illegal activities. The local authorities are committed to enforcing the law and ensuring the protection of the environment in this crucial area.
