Jamshedpur: In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities at Tatanagar railway station in the city have implemented strict measures to ensure the safety of passengers. Over 350 passengers who arrived at the station on Thursday were subjected to thermal screening as a precautionary measure.

The screening process involved the use of thermal cameras to measure the body temperature of each passenger. Around three passengers who were found to have a high temperature were immediately isolated and tested for COVID-19. However, all three were tested negative.

Passengers were also required to wear masks and maintain social distance while waiting to board their trains. Hand sanitizers were made available at various points throughout the station, and passengers were encouraged to use them frequently.

According to officials, the thermal screening process has been implemented as part of the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. They have urged all passengers to cooperate with the screening process and follow all safety guidelines to ensure their own safety as well as that of others.

The railway authorities have also stated that they will continue to monitor the situation closely and take necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers. They have appealed to the public to remain vigilant and take all necessary precautions to protect themselves from the virus.

Amid the rising concerns of COVID-19 cases in the city, the authorities have intensified screening measures at railway stations and bus stands to prevent the spread of the virus. Passengers arriving at these locations are now required to undergo mandatory screening as a precautionary measure.

“ At our railway station in the city, passengers were subjected to thermal screening, where their body temperatures were measured using thermal cameras. Passengers showing high temperatures were immediately isolated and tested for COVID-19. Similarly, at various bus stands, passengers were also required to undergo screening measures, which included thermal screening and filling out health declaration forms. Passengers showing any symptoms of COVID-19 were not allowed to board the buses,” said an official of the health department.
