Fate of 240 aspiring MPs to be decided today in Jharkhand

Ranchi: State Election Commission prepared itself for tomorrow�s much-awaited counting of votes that would decide the fate of 240 candidates in the fray in the Lok Sabha election 2014 across 14 Parliamentary seats. The statewide results will decide who will adorn the office of the MP while the nationwide results will make it clear as to who will run the country as PM on the same day.

In view of the counting exercise going to take place simultaneously in all the 14 constituencies, the state administration has made elaborate security arrangements at the counting centres The counting will take place in Rajmahal, Dumka, Godda, Dhanbad, Chatra, Kodarma, Hazaribagh, Giridih, Ranchi, Palamu, Lohardagga, Khunti, Chaibasa and Jamshedpur.

Counting centres have been turned into high security zones and entry of all individuals will be subject to strict security check and permission of the district administration in compliance of the Election Commission, state Election Commission authorities said.

Sources said Paramilitary jawans will guard the counting venues along with jawans of district police. Photo identity cards have been issued to individuals authorized for entry into the counting centres. The counting will begin at 8 am. Trends will start coming within a couple of hours.
