Jamshedpur, March 20:Jamshedpur witnessed large gatherings of devotees on Friday as thousands offered prayers on Alvida Juma, marking the last Friday of Ramadan.
Mosques across the city saw a significant turnout, with worshippers assembling in large numbers to participate in the special congregational prayers.

There had been anticipation that Eid might be celebrated on Friday, March 20, subject to the sighting of the crescent moon on Thursday. However, as the moon was not sighted, Eid will now be observed on Saturday.
Alvida Juma prayers were offered at several mosques including Aam Bagan Mosque, Jama Masjid in Sakchi, Gausala Mosque, Dhatkidih Badi Masjid, Makka Masjid, Bari Masjid in Mango, Imam Hussaini Masjid, along with mosques in Jugsalai, Sonari, and Telco.

Religious leaders, in their sermons, urged people to uphold Islamic values in their daily lives. They advised against playing loud or film music during Eid celebrations and emphasized leading a life rooted in honesty, compassion, and discipline.

Imams highlighted that unethical earnings corrupt the soul and lead individuals away from righteousness.
Meanwhile, the Shia community has decided to observe Eid in a subdued manner this year. Community members will offer prayers in mosques but refrain from wearing new clothes or organizing large celebrations. This decision comes in the wake of the reported demise of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a revered figure in Shia Islam.
Security arrangements across the city remained tight, with police patrol vehicles actively monitoring sensitive areas to ensure peaceful observance of prayers and upcoming festivities.
