Fancy dress competition held at Tata zoo

Jamshedpur: On the penultimate day of the Wildlife Week Celebrations 2014 at the Tata Steel Zoological Park, a fancy dress competition was organized for children. A total of 117 children from eight city schools participated in the competition.

Nitya Kumari from DAV Patel Nagar was declared the winner in the Junior Category (Nursery and Lower KG) and Daksh Jain from Loyola School was the winner in the senior category (Upper KG and Standard I). The event was sponsored by Lions Club of Jamshedpur Steel City.

The chief guest of the programme was Rajeev Ranjan, District Governor, Lions Club International. Prizes were given away by Pranati Das, president of Lions Clubs of Jamshedpur Steel City and Sunita Singh, one of the judges of the contest.

Present during the Fancy Dress Competition from two senior Past District Governors from Siliguri, West Benagal, G S Hora, A B Agarwal, Region Chairperson Anil Oraon and Subrato Dey.

Among those present during the programme included Bipul Chakrabarty, zoo Director, SK Mahato, curator, Rahul Tiwary, zoo volunteer Seema Rani, biologist cum education officer, Sandeep Raj Singh, zoo staff Tarakeshwar Ram, Ali Akhtar Khan, M Kumar, SR Mahato and Pratap Singh Gill.
