Jamshedpur, Apr 10: Several trees fell at different locations across Jamshedpur on Thursday, causing massive traffic disruptions and widespread power outages. The incidents, which occurred due to sudden strong winds in the afternoon, brought traffic to a standstill for over three hours in multiple directions and significantly affected daily life in the city.

One of the worst-hit areas was the stretch near MGM Hospital Road, where a large tree came crashing down. The blockage severely hampered the movement of vehicles, including ambulances heading to the hospital, resulting in a chaotic traffic snarl.
Similar scenes were reported from other parts of the city, including Sakchi, Bistupur, and Mango, where trees blocked key roads and tangled power lines, leading to extended electricity blackouts. Power supply in many residential and commercial zones was cut off as a precautionary measure to avoid any electrical mishaps due to fallen cables.
Fire brigade teams, municipal workers, and electricity department officials were deployed to clear debris and restore services. Local authorities confirmed that while no casualties have been reported, damage to power infrastructure and public inconvenience were considerable.
