Excited to play against Lobera’s Mumbai: Jamshedpur FC’s Jackichand

Jamshedpur, Dec. 12: Jamshedpur will be playing Mumbai City FC on 14th Feb away at Bambolim Stadium. The clash will see Jamshedpur FC winger Jackichand Singh lock horns against his former Head Coach, Sergio Lobera, and also many of his former teammates from his time at FC Goa like Boumous, Jahouh, Mourtada Fall and Mandar Rao Dessai.

Ahead of the tough fixture against the current table-toppers, Jackichand spoke to Jamshedpur FC Media.

He said, “The first 5 matches of the season were difficult but the team gave their best. And the positive is that after a hiccup in the first match (vs Chennaiyin), we have been unbeaten in the last 4 matches. We are trying to do our best in practice and keep improving ourselves. Many of the players in the squad are new and we it takes time to build a coordination between new players but we will keep working hard and try to keep getting better.”

Talking about his preparations ahead of the Mumbai City FC fixture, Jackichand said, “I am very excited to play Mumbai City. Like Jamshedpur, Mumbai also plays attacking football. It will be a good match as Mumbai are on top of the table. And I always take pleasure in playing good sides and I am ready to play them.”

When asked about facing his former Head Coach, Sergio Lobera, and many of his former teammates, JFC winger added, “Yes, I have played under the guidance of Sergio Lobera (in FC Goa), and I know how he likes to play his teams. He likes his team to play attacking football, keep the ball. And Mumbai has many players that have played with me. It will be a tough game at one end, but we are going to give our best and try to take 3 points home.”
