Jamshedpur, Jan 16: The All India Ex-Servicemen Service Council Jamshedpur celebrated Army Day in a grand manner at Brahmin Samaj, Parshuram Bhawan, Bagbeda, marking the significant contribution of the armed forces to the nation’s security. Retired soldiers from all three armed services came together to honor the sacrifices of their fellow soldiers and show their respect for the military.
The ceremony was graced by General Secretary of the organization Jitendra Kumar Singh, who expressed pride in seeing retired soldiers being honored in a civilian setting. “It is a proud moment for all of us to witness the respect for our soldiers, even after their service,” said Singh. The event included a touching tribute to the soldiers through the draping of shawls on the present army personnel.
Retired servicemen shared their personal experiences from their time in the army, providing the audience with an insight into the life of a soldier. The celebration reached its pinnacle when a cake-cutting ceremony was held by key dignitaries, including DK Mishra, President of Brahmin Samaj, and social worker Sanjay Mishra.
A special performance was given by young children who danced to patriotic songs, adding to the festive atmosphere. In addition to the ex-servicemen, a large number of military women and members of the Subhash Bal Sena attended the event.
The event was organized by District Coordinator Manoj Kumar Singh, who emphasized the importance of acknowledging the contribution of the armed forces. “Respecting our soldiers in civilian society is a matter of immense pride,” he said. Following the formalities, attendees enjoyed a meal together, fostering a sense of unity among the veterans and their families.
