Ex Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das accused of Rs 100 cr scam

Jan Sabha lodges complaint with ACB, also names top bureaucrats

Ranchi/Jamshedpur, Jan 9: Anti Corruption Bureau of Jharkhand has received a complaint against former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and several bureaucrats by one Pankaj Kumar Yadav of Jan Sabha, a non-government organization.

The complainant has accused Das along with former Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, IAS officer Sunil Kumar Barnwal, formerly Principal Secretary to CM and Industry Secretary K Ravi Kumar of scam worth Rs 100 crore. He alleged that the scam was perpetrated in the name of Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors Summit.

It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister Hemant Soren had announced to take stringent measures against scamsters and corrupt politicians and bureaucrats of the state. His announcement echoed on the last day of Jharkhand Assembly�s special session on Wednesday.

During debate on the second Supplementary Budget, the MLAs of the ruling alliance had alleged that the former Raghubar Das government had emptied the state exchequer by making huge spends in the name of Momentum Jharkhand. They alleged that the state was undergoing poor economic condition. Former Minister and Jamshedpur East MLA (Independent) Saryu Roy has demanded special audit of all government departments and also sought a white paper on the state�s economy.
