Ranchi, August 21: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that by 2018, every village will be electrified & towns along with the villages will have similar civic amenities & infrastructures. Das said that all villages of Jharkhand will be developed into e-villages.
He said that Gram Panchayats will be facilitated in the line of delivery system which has brought about transparency to a greater extent in rendering corruption free governance in the state.
He said it while inaugurating National Convention on Smart Village Program jointly conducted by Rural Development Department & SIRD.
Referring to Smart Village Program started by Prime Minister, Das said that village development which was overlooked for 67 years after Independence, has emerged as a very pertinent issue & centre as well as the state govt. are working hand-in-hand to develop the villages.
He said that e-village concept is in the interest of the villages. Mentioning Smart village concept, the Chief Minister said that education is the most important factor of smart villages & the Govt. looks forward to develop smart villages on international parameters. Discussing various schemes of the Govt. the CM said that the Govt. endeavors to increase the rural people�s purchase capacity through promoting gardening, fisheries & animal husbandry. Das said that the Govt. is planning to conduct unanimous election in Gram Panchayats.
He added that if a woman is elected headman of a village, the village will be given an award of Rs 2 lakhs. The Rural Development Minister Nilkanth Singh Munda said that the villages will be developed in the line of the towns with roadways, transportation, drinking water & health facilities.
He said that the Govt. has provisioned Rs 5000 crores to make 500 smart villages.
In the two day convention, many national & international experts will share their views on smart village.
Principal Secretary of Rural Development Department N.N.Sinha threw light on the purpose of conducting this program & said that many new ideas will evolve from this session.
MGNREGA Commissioner Rahul Sharma, Secretary to CM Sunil Kumar Burnwal, SIRD Director K.Ravi Kumar & many experts were present in the meeting.
