Jamshedpur, August 9: The 111th birthday of late Chairman and patriarch of Tata Group, JRD Tata was celebrated on 29th July, 2015 with due enthusiasm by the employees of Tata Motors, Jamshedpur.
The celebrations commenced with Sumant Sinha, GM (ER, Welfare & CSR) starting with lighting the traditional lamp with floral tribute in the General Office foyer.
Following him to pay tribute were the Senior Executives of Tata Motors, TML Drivelines and Tata Technologies along with Divisional Ethics Counsellors. The Ethics Pledge taking ceremony followed, wherein every individual resolved to abide by the principles enshrined in the Tata Code of Conduct.
The day marked the beginning of the Ethics Week.
The Ethics Week was observed from 29th July � 4th Aug 2015 and a series of events and competitions were held during the period.
Ethics Week closing ceremony was held on 8th August 2015 at Telco Club with Ajoy B Lall, Head – Jamshedpur Plant as Chief Guest.
About 200 participants from Senior Management Team of TML, Jamshedpur, TML Drivelines & Tata Technologies, Divisional Ethics Counsellors, school students with their Principals from 11 different TML supported schools attended the program.
The session started with the welcome address by Mr. Kallol Lahiri, Locational Ethics Counsellor, Jamshedpur.
A brief presentation was made by him on various events that were held in TML, Jamshedpur during Ethics Week celebrations. A video clipping of JRD Tata was shown, in which, he talked about the uniqueness of the Group because of its Leaderships and Tata way of doing business in an Ethical manner.
21 school children, who won in Essay, Debate and Drawing competitions held during the Ethics Week were awarded by Sumant Sinha. Several employees of the Plant and Service Providers were felicitated by Mr. A B Lall for their exemplary ethical behaviour.
Winners of the contests for employees like JRD Quiz, slogan writing contest etc. were also felicitated. The Divisional Ethics Counsellors were also recognized for their contribution.
Mr. Lall in his address mentioned that ethics in business means far more than mere financial integrity, as is widely interpreted. Ethics encompasses the entire spectrum of human conduct and should be visible in the day to day behavior of individuals.
He mentioned that ethics has always been at the core of everything the Tata Group has stood for and stressed upon internalizing the �Tata Code of conduct� � the light post guiding and inspiring Tata organizations, more as they have spread their footprint across businesses and geographies.
He congratulated all prize winners and exhorted them to work towards making India a better place.
