Jamshedpur, August 23: ESBA (East Singhbhum Badminton Association) will organise district badminton championship cum selection trail from August 24 to 26 at Mohan Ahuja Stadium.
Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA) secretary K. Prabhakar Rao, said, the tournament matches will be played in singles and doubles format in the under-11, under-13, under-15, under-17, under-19 (boys and girls) and men and women categories.
Addressing the press conference at Mohan Ahuja Stadium on Thursday, Prabhakar Rao informed that preparations are in place for the district level championship with arrangement of generators.
Around 180 players including students from city schools are slated to participate in the district championship and their performances will open doors for selection in the state championships, said Rao.
He further said that the entry fee for singles is Rs 400 and for doubles is Rs 800. The event will be inaugurated at 10 am while the reporting tome for the participants is 9 am.
