Enthusiasm rules ‘Wheels’, Advaita rocks Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Jan. 12: Enthusiasm ruled day two of ‘Wheels 2019’ finals on Saturday.

Danceverse-Solo, Group and Duet event at Telco Club Stage saw students display their dance talent and set the stage on fire with their moves. A blend of dancing minds and souls saw extraordinary performances from the participants.
At ‘Yogathon’ participants performed yoga and suryanamskar with different structure formation along with music at TRC Dance Room.

In ‘AD MAD Show’ at Telco Club Dinning Hall students indulged in marketing of goods by learning new ways and showcased their creativity in marketing products and service.

Students acted out on various advertisement script and ideas. All the teams were given a time frame to showcase their talent.

The ‘Nukkad’ event held at Telco Lawn connected with the common man, breaking all social formalities. Students displayed their hidden talent by raising voice against a social issue.

‘Youth Parliament’ at Management Training Centre saw the participants address the mass with thoughts and questions pertaining issues that the country is up against and put a motion forward. This Parliament session was simulation of the actual parliament with bill presentation, committee formation, voting etc. events followed in orderly manner.

Scavenger Hunt’ event at Engineers Hall tested the mettle and skills of the participants. Students solved mind boggling clues and hunted down the hidden treasure. This event drew large number of participants.
‘Wit- Standup Comedy’ at MTC saw students present mind boggling and funny jokes which was applauded by one and all.

Gaming events including Counter Strike, NFS and Wheel Premier League (Cricket) were also held on day 2 of the finals on January 12.

In ‘Bridge The Gap’ event at Engineers Hall (Parking Lot) participants designed a bridge from Popsicle sticks with the highest possible load capacity that also meets the required specifications for its geometry. The bridges were to be surface loaded with weights. The bridge sustaining the maximum load won. Technical event Route The Truck also drew number of students. Day 2 of Wheels finals also witnessed performance of Advaita, an Indian fusion band based in New Delhi.
The New Delhi-based eight member troupe gave a special performance at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium.

With its sound ranging from the sarangi to Jazz elements, Advaita managed to win over even the purists with their fusion music. The ensemble – comprising Abhishek Mathur (guitars), Aman Singh (drums), Anindo Bose (keyboards), Chayan Adhikari (Western vocals and guitar), Gaurav Chintamani (bass), Mohit Lal (tabla), Suhail Yusuf Khan (sarangi and vocals) and Ujwal Nagar (Hindustani vocals) — gave a electrifying performance.

Formed in 2004, Advaita has established itself as one of the most innovative and original acts in the Indian music scene.

January 12 also staged classical dance performance by Nrityangan Institute of Performing Arts.

On 13th January Bollywood Mega-Nite will be held at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium where ‘Tera Ghata’ singer Gajendra Verma along with singer Jonita Gandhi will perform.

The prize distribution ceremony will take place on 13th of January 2019. First rolled out in 1987, this year the theme for 32nd edition of Wheels is “ANKURAN-Nurturing Innovations”.

Organised by the Graduate Engineer Trainee (G.E.T) Club, ‘Wheels 2019’ finals will conclude on 13th January.
