Jamshedpur: Popular Bollywood actor and senior BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha today attributed his decision to enter politics to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan while paying tributes to the legend on his birth anniversary during a programme organized at Ganesh Puja ground, Kadma.
Addressing the gathering, the Bihari Babu of Indian cinema and MP said JP had inspired him to take to politics from the height of stardom and success in Bollywood. �It was the charisma of JP which overwhelmed my mind at that time and finally led me to enter politics,� said Sinha.
The veteran actor said JP was a magician in politics. He said he was the only person to whom JP would often talk in Bhojpuri. He said he was forever indebted to JP who had a rich persona and who had united youths by giving his call for Sampurna Kranti (total revolution).
Sinha further said he had been in politics so far under the banner of BJP and that he would remain under BJP�s banner till he remains in politics.
Also present on the occasion was former MP and veteran BJP leader Yashwant Sinha. He too, highly praised Jai Prakash Narayan for his contribution to the Indian democracy and Sampurna Kranti.
He said the principles illuminated by JP will remain relevant for a long time to come. He appealed to youths to follow the footsteps of JP.
National BJP vice president Raghuvar Das, former MLA Saryu Roy, the MP of Jamshedpur Vidyut Varan Mahato and many other BJP leaders were also present during the programme.
The leaders garlanded a portrait of JP and paid floral tributes to him along with members of JP Vichar Manch and Citizen Forum who organized the programme.
