Ensemble 2015: Arpit Vinayak of IIM Lucknow named ‘The Next Gen Leader’


Jamshedpur, Nov. 16: The third and final day of XLRI’s Annual National Management Conclave, Ensemble, saw a perfect amalgamation of competitive spirit and festive enthusiasm as participants, students and organisers geared up for the last run of events.

Leading the line-up of events was The Next-Gen Leader – the flagship event of Ensemble 2015, which saw carefully handpicked participants from the top B-schools fight it out in an intense battle for the leader with the most promise to emerge victorious. A variety of skills were tested, including the participants’ logical skills, marketing abilities, and articulation as well as leadership recognition abilities. The winner was Arpit Vinayak from IIM Lucknow, who walked away with the prize money of Rs 1 lakh.

Circus Maximus, the flagship marketing event organized in association with the Marketing Association at XLRI conducted its final round which saw some of the most creative minds use their wits and marketing prowess to impress the judges. Team Brainy is the New Sexy from IIM Calcutta walked away victorious, with The Expendables a close second.

Other flagship events such as Strike or Yield for Industrial Relations and Helios the Operatios event, too, conducted their final rounds with participation from different b-school campuses across the country. The domain events of BM and HR, namely Poseidon and Apollo were conducted. While the Poseidon was won by Team Not Just Another Team while Apollo was won by Team Mojo Jojo, from XLRI.

Dracula, the dramatics and cultural association at XLRI kept the crowds engaged with events like Solaris, Spell Bee and 20 Questions and a satirical play titled ‘Taj Mahal ka Tender’ which kept the audiences in splits. For the quizzical and curious, Dracula also conducted its much-awaited Ensemble Quiz.

Informal events like NBA Jam, Paintball and Zorbing kept up the energy levels through the day and saw phenomenal participation. The day ended on a high note with a performance by Nucleya featuring Sickflip which had the audience losing themselves to the beat of electronic dance music.
