Jamshedpur: An anti-encroachment campaign was launched on Monday by district administration and Jusco officials at Aam Bagan, Sakchi.
It was conducted to free the ground from garages and temporary structures encroaching the ground for the last several years, sources said.
Sources said the temporary structures erected on the ground were removed with the help of bulldozers as per the plan chalked out in this regard earlier.
The ground was leveled after demolition of the structures, sources said.
The officials of Mango Notified Area Committee and Jusco were present on the occasion. Garbage kept on the ground was removed.
A huge deployment of police force was made at the site.
However there was rarely any protest at the venue contrary to the estimate of the administration officials who though there could be some resistance on part of the garage and shop owners at the encroached site.
