Jamshedpur, Sep 16: In a function held on 16 September, Ashish Mathur, MD, JUSCO inaugurated the Free Training Programme for SC/ST Graduates to improve their employability in the Corporate World. Also present during the function were Ms Usha Shukla, Principal, Graduate School & College for Women, Ms P P Sagar, Professor Graduate School & College for Women, Subhashish Chakravorty, Senior Manager, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Ms Preeti Sehgal, Chief (CSR), JUSCO, Rajesh Bahadur, Executive Officer to MD, JUSCO and Rajesh Rajan, Head (CC&Billing), JUSCO.

It is felt that underprivileged youth from the SC/ST communities from smaller towns lose out to good job opportunities because of lack of confidence and poor English communication skills. Hence, JUSCO along with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) developed a program of 80 hours (free training) to improve English communication skills, computer skills, corporate etiquette and also intends to build the confidence of the graduates and connect them to the Corporate World.

Under the Free Training Programme, JEM Foundation is giving the classroom facility for the training programme. A total of 52 students have registered for the programme out of which majority students (current batch & Ex) are from Graduate School & College for Women, Sakchi. The training programme is organized with the help of TCSs CSR Division. The programme is free of cost and does not guarantee any employment in JUSCO or in TCS. With the success of this programme, company plans to include more such deserving SC/ST candidates who will benefit from this free training programme and compete in the corporate world.
