Electronics media can never replace books

Jamshedpur, April 24: Books help us to become a better human and increases our knowledge, said Arvind Tiwary, founder of ‘Yuva’.

Addressing a discourse on the occasion of World Books Day at Yuva Library in Parsudih, Tiwary said, the students apart from their syllabus should also read books. ‘Friendship with books make us a better citizen and books helps in accumulation of history and future development’, noted Tiwary.

He further said that electronics media can never take the place of books and we should ensure that not to lose our reading habits. Treasurer of Yuva, Narendra Kumar said, children today stay away from books due to the electronic gadgets and we must ensure to help make their friendship with books.

World Book Day is a yearly event on April 23rd, organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to promote reading, publishing and copyright.

World Book Day was celebrated for the first time on 23 April 1995 while the Indian government started celebrating the day from 2001. On the occasion Avinash Kumart, Chandan Kumar, Rahul Kumar and others.
