Jamshedpur, June 16: An elderly motorist sustained minor injuries after his car went out of control following a sudden tyre blowout near the Circuit House in Bistupur on Tuesday.
According to reports, the vehicle was travelling from Bistupur towards Sai Mandir when both front tyres allegedly burst near Circuit House, causing the driver to lose control. The car first rammed into an electric pole and then slammed into a roadside tree before coming to a halt.
The impact was severe, leaving the front portion of the vehicle extensively damaged.
In receiving information about the mishap, the SIS Quick Response Team (QRT) rushed to the spot and took charge of the situation. The damaged vehicle was removed from the road and shifted to Bistupur police station to ensure smooth traffic movement and facilitate further investigation.
The injured driver was administered first aid and is reported to be in stable condition. Police have launched an inquiry to ascertain whether the tyre burst was caused by a mechanical defect or any other factor.
