Jamshedpur, July 6: East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Amit Kumar has ordered deployment of around 600-strong force from the district police accompanied by Rapid Action Force (RAF) jawans at strategic locations in communally sensitive pockets of city in view of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations on Thursday.
The personnel have been deployed in Mango, Sakchi, Jugsalai, Shastrinagar (in Kadma), Dhatkidih (in Bistupur), Masjid Road (in Golmuri) and Bhalubhasa (in Sitaramdera). Entry of heavy vehicles to city would be prohibited from 6 a.m. till 11 p.m. tomorrow.
Pickets would be posted and round the clock patrolling done to maintain law and order, he said, adding peace committee meetings have been held with various communities, who have assured cooperation to observe the festival peacefully.
“As per the orders the forces deployment would be from evening of July 6 till July 8 (morning) along with deployment of 130 magistrates who would be doing vigil in communally sensitive.
We have also held several rounds of meeting with peace committee meetings at all the police stations and their members would also be helping the administration,” said Dhalbhum SDO Suraj Kumar.
Moreover, Jamshedpur city SP Prashant Anand and SDO Dhalbhum would be keeping vigil at the police control room (PCR) situated inside Sakchi police station premises.
