IT education must to empower Jharkhand youths: CM

Ranchi, Nov. 14: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that the government wanted to empower all youths by educating and making them skilled in the field of Information Technology (IT).

He said that education and skill development was top on the government�s priority list. Knowledge is indispensable from development point of view, said the CM while addressing IT Talent Search Udaan 2016 at D.P.S. Ranchi.

Laying emphasis on various aspects of IT utility in eradicating corruption, the CM said that now people can get mutation done and pay electricity bills easily. �After connecting villages with Bharat Net, E-gram and E-city schemes will be started in the year 2017. IT Talent Search has been started and IT scholarship is being started. This year nearly 1.5 lakh children from public, private and government schools of the state participated in IT Talent Search which marks its success,� he said.

Das said that poverty is not a curse and those who have not been educated are not ignoramus. �Even poor and deprived people have good ideas. They only need to be made skilled. Children are being equipped with IT. In the start-up policy of the government, children are encouraged to gain expertise in software. They are being given loans. With the help of IIM Ahmadabad, Jharkhand Innovation Lab is being started,� he said.

Underlining the role of teachers, the CM said that they nurture the future of the nation. They have to make civilized and educated society. Government and private schools should exchange their children during exchange programmes.

The CM further appealed to children to maintain cleanliness. He interacted with children and answered their question.
IT secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, Director Umesh Prasad Sah, DPS Principal Ram Singh and other people were present on this occasion.
