Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again summoned Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in the land scam case. The ED has sent a summons and asked them to appear for questioning on September 23, 2023.
It is to be noted that CM Hemant Soren has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the summons sent earlier by the ED. At the same time, Hemant Soren has been summoned for questioning by the ED several times but Hemant Soren has not appeared before the ED. Earlier, ED had sent summons on August 14 and August 24 for questioning but they did not arrive.
ED had sent summons to the CM for questioning. Earlier, the inquiry was called on August 14 and then the CM protested and urged the ED to withdraw the summons immediately. At the same time, the CM was summoned for questioning on August 24 by sending another summons, but he did not appear before the ED again. At the same time, CM Hemant Soren reached the Supreme Court against the summons of ED. The Chief Minister filed a writ petition against the summons. The CM was to be questioned in the land scam case. Soren challenged the summons by sending a letter.
Cases in which CM was summoned:
– ED conducted raids on April 13 and 26 in the land scam case
– During the raid on April 13, a box was found from the house of revenue employee Bhanu Pratap, documents related to the land were also recovered from inside the box
– Apart from this, ED raided 5 locations in Ranchi and Jamshedpur
– A large number of documents relating to the purchase and sale of land were recovered
– So far many accused have been sent behind the bars in the case while Prem Prakash and Chibi Ranjan have been interrogated in the land scam case
– CM Soren was summoned after questioning Prem Prakash
