ED raids former Seraikela-Kharsawan DC Chhavi Ranjan’s flat in Jamshedpur, documents seized  

Jamshedpur, April 13: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at the flat of a senior IAS officer and former DC of Ranchi and Seraikela-Kharsawan Chhavi Ranjan in a land scam. The raid was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and embezzlement of public funds against the officer.

According to sources, a six-members ED team arrived at the IAS officer’s flat early in the morning with search warrants and conducted a thorough search of the premises. The raid lasted for several hours and various documents, including financial records and other relevant evidence, were seized by the ED team.

The ED team did not have the exact location, so it took some time for the team to reach there. The ED team reached there, the flat was locked. After this the ED team called his relative living in Adityapur and got the flat opened.  The flat is located at Kadma GP Slope.

The IAS officer, who holds a high-ranking position in the government, is alleged to have been involved in corrupt practices and misappropriation of government land.

Born in Jamshedpur Ranjan, has been in controversy for most of his tenure of 12 years. He is facing investigation for allegedly cutting six forest trees in 2015 at his official residence when he was DC of Koderma. He hits hornet’s nest for leasing out stone mines in the name of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Sources informed that the raid was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of corruption and embezzlement of Government land against the IAS officer. The ED further added that the evidence collected during the raid will be thoroughly examined and the officer will be given an opportunity to explain their position.

“ The case highlights the government’s commitment to tackling corruption and ensuring that public officials are held accountable for their actions. The raid also serves as a reminder that no one is above the law, regardless of their position or reputation. As the investigation progresses, further details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the nature and extent of the alleged corruption. The case will be closely followed by the media and the public, as it involves a high-ranking government official and has significant implications for the fight against corruption in the country,” said an official.

The IAS officer has not yet made any public statement regarding the raid, and their official response to the allegations is awaited. The officer is likely to face legal consequences if found guilty, including possible suspension from duty, fines, and even imprisonment.
