Ranchi, January 17: Coal businessman Izhar Ansari appeared in the special PMLA court on Wednesday.
The court handed him over to Enforcement Directorate (ED) for 6-day remand.
Significantly, Izhar Ansari was arrested by ED on January 16. It is noteworthy that ED had raided Izhar Ansari’s Hazaribagh house and factory at around 6:30 am on Tuesday in connection with the coal linkage scam case.
Earlier in March 2023 also, ED had raided the premises of Izhar Ansari. Then cash worth more than Rs 3 crore was found from his house.
On January 16, ED had raided several locations of Izhar Ansari in Hazaribagh. During this time a raid was conducted at Izhaar’s residence. During the raid, ED got hold of many documents in which evidence of illegal coal trading by Izhar was found. Izhar Ansari is accused of illegal coal trading under the guise of shell companies.
Izhar is also accused of setting up an illegal coal business allegedly with the help of suspended IAS Pooja Singhal and making black money worth crores of rupees.
