Chaibasa, June 11: The two-day �nake bandi� (economic blockage) called by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha � Prajatantrik (JVM-P) in protest against the domicile policy of the Ragubar Das-led government was partially successful on the first day on Saturday in West Singhbhum district.
The Odisha Manganese and Minerals of Ghatkuri Mines and SAIL mines at Gua and Kiriburu carried out their loading and dispatching of iron ore through heavy vehicle and railway goods train, while S R Rungta Mines and Usha Martin closed their loading points.
Most of the heavy vehicles were seen�standing on the roadside in long queues. The region witnessed heavy deployment of police force at different location with a view to evade any untoward incident. Markets remained open, while passenger buses plied without any hindrances during the blockade.
