Economic blockade: Mining operations come to a halt in W. Singhbhum

Chaibasa, June 12: �The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha � Prajatantrik (JVM-P) called�two-day economic blockade of the region has a serious impact on the iron ore belt in the region, as all the railway siding loading point in Badajamda and Gua �did not carry out any loading of iron ore. At the same time, iron ore loaded vehicles remained off road on Sunday.


The mines lease owners did not operate their mining activities on Sunday. At least 25 JVM activists including JVM district president Hemat Singh Dev, JVM central committee member Brij Mohan and Noamundi block president Prashant Champia were arrested at Badjama while taking out a rally with banners and display cards at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Prashant Champia said that the government�s atrocities cannot suppress the voice of the people and JVM would continue to oppose the present form of domiciles as it is against the Moolvasi and Adivasi .

Champia thanked the mine owners for supporting the JVM stir. Others JVM leaders who were arrested include Ajit Kumar Singh JVM district vice-president, Ajit Kumar Singh JVM district secretary, Anant Prasad Gupta Noamundi block in- charge and many others.
