ECC flats residents meet SSP, want curb on thefts

Jamshedpur, March 10: Residents of ECC flats in Kadma met senior superintendent of police Anoop T Mathew on Thursday and urged him to take immediate necessary action on the menace of thieves in the locality.

With the crime graph rising in Jamshedpur people are living with constant fear. The thieves� menace all over the city has left several with sleepless nights.

�The policemen are rarely seen in the area and in the absence of any kind of security, the thieves are taking advantage and are freely indulging in robbing of houses, bikes, cycles etc,� said Tarak Nath Mandal, a resident of ECC flat.

Another resident Vivek Kumar Gupta said, during a week five house robberies and a motorcycle has been stolen which has made life hell for the residents.

Gupta added, �The nearest policemen were insisting to lodge complaints and file FIR�s and intern frightening us that the robbed things will be handed over to courts and given at immediate, this is causing people in not registering complaints.�

Fifty residents of the ECC flats appealed the SSP to take action as soon as possible. On his part, the senior SP assured them of full cooperation.
