Eastern Regional Police Coordination Committee meeting in Ranchi on Sept 15

Ranchi: A meeting of the Eastern Regional Police Coordination Committee will be held at the Jharkhand Police Headquarters here on September 15. The meeting will discuss strategies to enhance mutual cooperation between police forces in the eastern states on issues like narcotics, Naxal, cyber, and smuggling. Senior police officers from Jharkhand, Bihar, Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh will participate in the meeting.

As part of the meeting, the police teams of the five states will come together to formulate strategies for real-time sharing of intelligence from cyber crime to Naxalite operations. The meeting will be led by DGP Ajay Kumar Singh of Jharkhand Police.

Through this meeting, nodal officers from each state will be appointed in the police organisation to share intelligence information in real-time. The responsibility of these officers will be to share intelligence information in real-time.

A common strategy will be drawn up in the five states to deal with Naxal activities and related operations, and a strategy to identify and enhance surveillance of narcotics trade, smuggling, and illicit liquor routes in the border areas. Coordinating committees will be formed from district to state level for coordination between states. Also, joint operations will be conducted to coordinate with each other to prevent cybercrime and organised crime.
