Jamshedpur, Sept 19:East Tech 2025, jointly organised by HQ Eastern Command of the Indian Army, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), was inaugurated today at Tana Bhagat Indoor Stadium, Ranchi.
Centered on the theme “Atmanirbharta Se Samprabhuta”, the three-day symposium brings together the Armed Forces, MSMEs, startups, and academia to accelerate indigenous innovation and operational excellence.

The event was formally inaugurated by Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, who hailed East Tech 2025 as a “historic milestone” in India’s journey toward self-reliance in defence.
Chief minister Hemant Soren, underlined the state’s readiness to contribute, citing Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) as a key industrial backbone.
Minister of state for defence Sanjay Seth, emphasized India’s target of Rs 50,000 crore in defence exports, urging MSMEs, startups, and Jharkhand’s youth to play a pivotal role.
General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, stressed the importance of innovation: “War is both a science and an art, and unless we are innovative, inventive, and imaginative, India cannot lead in defence technology.”
Rajinder Singh Bhatia, President, SIDM, highlighted the strong participation of 175 exhibitors and over 400 delegates as a reflection of industry’s commitment to self-reliance.
The first day featured a panel discussion on “Operationalising Dual-Use Technologies for Integrated National Defence & Development”, bringing industry leaders and Armed Forces together for strategic dialogue.
With focused Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings and displays from over 170 companies, East Tech 2025 is set to drive synergy between innovation, industry, and the armed forces.
