Jamshedpur, July 2: Congress East Singhbhum district in-charge for implementation of the party’s ‘Outreach’ drive, Jyoti Singh Matharu said as per directives of the party’s national president, Sonia Gandhi and leader Rahul Gandhi, a survey was being undertaken and would continue till July 30 to take stock of the COVID toll to provide justice to the kin of people who died of the viral infection, children who were orphaned, those who lost their jobs and businesses. Project ‘Outreach’ was being undertaken by the Congress nationwide and the survey would be conducted from Block to Panchayat levels in every district.
This was stated at a press meet held at the district Congress headquarter in Tilak Pustakalay on Friday. Matharu stated, “10 COVID Warriors have been appointed who will fill up survey forms on a door-to-door basis. The reports have to be presented weekly to the Congress district president who, in turn, would provide the data collected to the state president. Others present during the press meeting were Congress district president Vijay Khan, Ajay Singh, LB Singh, Brajendra Tiwary, Sanjay Singh Azad, Jasai Mardi, Prince Singh and Aparna Guha.
